Project Engineer

About the role
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about infrastructure development and eager to gain hands-on experience in managing large-scale projects such as highways, bridges, utilities, and site development.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities to support project schedules and budgets
- Design, review, and implement temporary works and construction means and methods with a strong emphasis on safety
- Inspect installed work, equipment, and materials; identify issues and coordinate corrective actions as needed
- Provide on-site direction and technical support to foremen, crews, and subcontractors
- Monitor project progress and prepare accurate daily reports, quantities, and documentation
- Perform quality control inspections to ensure work complies with contract documents, plans, and specifications
- Verify materials and workmanship meet project requirements and approved submittals
- Enforce safety policies, OSHA regulations, and proper use of PPE on the job site
- Support project cost tracking, schedule updates, and coordination with project stakeholders
- Assist with communication between the field, project management, owners, and inspectors
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum of three (2) years of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role in heavy civil or highway construction
- Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, and materials used in civil infrastructure projects
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and job-site safety practices
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required to meet project schedules
Working Conditions
- This project is located in Carlin, NV
- Work is primarily performed on active construction job sites, including highways, roadways, and heavy civil infrastructure projects
- Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust
- Position requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting in a construction environment
- Frequent interaction with heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and construction hazards; strict adherence to safety protocols is required
- Travel between job sites may be required depending on project location
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all job sites
