Project Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Aid in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities to support project schedules and budgets.
• Design, review, and implement temporary works and construction means and methods with a strong emphasis on safety.
• Inspect installed work, equipment, and materials; identify issues and coordinate corrective actions as needed.
• Provide on-site direction and technical support to foremen, crews, and subcontractors.
• Maintain oversight of project progress and prepare accurate daily reports, quantities, and documentation.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work complies with contract documents, plans, and specifications.
• Verify materials and workmanship meet project requirements and approved submittals.
• Enforce safety policies, OSHA regulations, and proper use of PPE on the job site.
• Support project cost tracking, schedule updates, and coordination with project stakeholders.
• Aid in communication between the field, project management, owners, and inspectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role in heavy civil or highway construction.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, and materials used in civil infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and job-site safety practices.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required to meet project schedules.
