Project Engineer

Main Responsibilities

• Designs layouts of equipment
• Aids in specifying new production equipment, including research of available providers, determination of specifications, obtaining quotations, recommending purchases, conducting factory acceptance tests, arranging installation, completing startup, training, and performance qualification
• Aids the Automation team to find the ideal setup for the Factory flow
• Liaises with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
• Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
• Identifies and negotiates with other internal functional areas for required personnel
• Tracks project milestones and deliverables
• Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
• Ensures correct information for quotations
• Cost feasibility cycle time estimation
• Efficiencies machine and mold configuration
• Secondary packaging layout
• Projects or sub-projects
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year degree (Associates) in related field or equivalent, 4-year degree (Bachelor) preferred
• 3 to 5 years experience as an Engineer in production is required, preferably within the plastics industry
• Technical Engineering background is preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Effective communication skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude and skills
• Mechanical and electrical skills
• Knowledge of packaging systems
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Thorough understanding of technical aspects of different types of equipment
• Certifications/Licenses: Lean Six Sigma (Green belt or Black Belt), preferred, not required; PMP (Project Management Professional), preferred, not required; CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management), preferred, not required
