Project Engineer

Main Responsibilities
- Designs layouts of equipment
- Aids in specifying new production equipment, including research of available providers, determination of specifications, obtaining quotations, recommending purchases, conducting factory acceptance tests, arranging installation, completing startup, training, and performance qualification
- Aids the Automation team to find the ideal setup for the Factory flow
- Liaises with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
- Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
- Identifies and negotiates with other internal functional areas for required personnel
- Tracks project milestones and deliverables
- Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
- Ensures correct information for quotations
- Cost feasibility cycle time estimation
- Efficiencies machine and mold configuration
- Secondary packaging layout
- Projects or sub-projects
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-year degree (Associates) in related field or equivalent, 4-year degree (Bachelor) preferred
- 3 to 5 years experience as an Engineer in production is required, preferably within the plastics industry
- Technical Engineering background is preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and skills
- Mechanical and electrical skills
- Knowledge of packaging systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Thorough understanding of technical aspects of different types of equipment
- Certifications/Licenses: Lean Six Sigma (Green belt or Black Belt), preferred, not required; PMP (Project Management Professional), preferred, not required; CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management), preferred, not required
