Project Engineer 4

Role Overview

This role provides engineering leadership to a team with multiple skill areas, including internal and external resources and customers. The position involves developing statements of work (SOW) for research and development, as well as for ongoing and new business requirements. The work is performed under minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop statements of work (SOW) to meet business and research requirements, and work with management and customers to obtain approval.
• Respond to changes in the SOW, assess impacts, and negotiate proposed modifications to deliverables, resources, costs, and schedules.
• Lead project execution to complete the work statement and identify performance metrics.
• Plan, identify, and coordinate necessary resources throughout the project lifecycle.
• Define plans for risk mitigation and opportunity management.
• Compare actual results to the baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiency, and productivity.
• Provide technical, business, and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry is required.
• Experience: This position requires 4+ years of related work experience, including experience in a production or systems engineering role. It also requires 3+ years of experience leading teams or managing cross-functional projects.
• Technical Skills: Candidates must have 4+ years of experience with project management tools, 4+ years of advanced Microsoft suite skills including macro development and advanced Excel formulas, 4+ years developing presentations for leadership, and knowledge of TABLEAU or PowerBI.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10 or more years of related work experience.
• Project Management Certification (PMP).
• Lever Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) certification.
• Experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) or as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).
• Experience with Microsoft Project or Planner.
