Project Director - Industrial Air

About the role

SCS Engineers is seeking a Project Director with expertise in industrial Clean Air Act (CAA) services to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will lead business development, project management, and technical efforts while maintaining high visibility in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate existing and new clients for industrial CAA services and win new work.
• Provide leadership and coordination for regional projects and clients.
• Develop clients and accomplish projects under the guidance of senior managers.
• Lead business development and technical efforts focused on providing strategic solutions to clients' complex air quality problems.
• Work with senior managers to develop and execute business strategies.
• Manage project teams and staff, including providing technical leadership, risk management, and mentoring.
• Recruit and train additional staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in environmental or chemical engineering, meteorology, or related engineering or environmental discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience helping industrial clients comply with federal and state air regulations, especially through application of new technologies or other innovative approaches.
• Experience working as a consultant.
• Extensive experience with air and GHG regulations.
• Professional Engineer or other relevant professional registration preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.

• High visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in professional organizations, and attendance/presentation at industry events.
• Technical expert and trainer for air quality matters, regulatory analyses as guided by the Clean Air Act, as well as state and local regulations and evolving GHG regulations and reporting programs.
• Experience with air permitting (NSR, PSD, Title V, GHG, and state-level pre-construction and operating permits).
• Experience with air quality impact assessments involving dispersion modeling and health risk assessment.
• Experience overseeing scoping or conducting air pollution control device selection and evaluations, source emission monitoring, and various ambient and source emission measurements and methods.
• Ability to manage project teams and staff, including providing technical leadership, risk management, and mentoring.
• Ability to recruit and train additional staff.

Pay

USD $120,000.00 - USD $170,000.00 /Yr.
