About the Role

Project Directors are responsible for simultaneously managing and directing multiple claims and jobs. This position reports directly to the Regional Director and interfaces with other departments as required. Project Directors lead technicians and superintendents in the production phase of jobs via work orders while embodying and applying the company’s core values: Team Spirit, Integrity, Quality, Humility, and Safety.

Responsibilities

• Manages multiple large-scope projects simultaneously from beginning to completion.
• Develops estimates for construction and mitigation projects.
• Reviews and approves time and material billing, ensuring all billable job costs are captured.
• Maintains business contacts and sources new business to generate work.
• Prepares accurate and detailed work orders for scheduling and disseminates them to responsible parties.
• Conducts thorough job inspections and recommends further work to adjusters or clients.
• Tracks project plans and makes adjustments to stay on schedule and meet contract deadlines.
• Gathers and reviews documents and work orders to ensure timely customer invoicing and prompt payment.
• Communicates frequently and effectively with adjusters, customers, co-workers, and contractors.
• Markets company services to adjusters and potential clients.
• Collaborates with Account Executives to prepare bids for adjusters or customers.
• Performs loss site inspections to determine damages and prepare bids.
• Supports the Company’s safe workplace policies and practices and promotes adherence.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License with a driving record in good standing.
• Proven experience managing large projects in commercial mitigation and construction.
• Extensive knowledge of construction estimating.
• Experience with time and material billing concepts.
• Experience marketing services to generate new or existing business.
• Thorough knowledge of basic safety standards and work practices.
• Experience leading crews, delegating, and communicating effectively at all levels; strong leadership skills.
• Industry-related certification (desirable).
• Completion or in-progress IICRC Training.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Proficiency in generating reports using Microsoft Suite products and Xactimate.
• Understanding of cost containment and risk management basics.
• OSHA 10 certification (desirable).
• Ability to apply good judgment in making important decisions under pressure.
• Experience in effective communications, coaching, and training.

Safety Requirements

• Regulatory Requirements: Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Required PPE may include gloves, masks, goggles, hard hats, and safety footwear. All employees must wear PPE as required for their specific roles and job site conditions.
• Physical Clearance: Successfully complete a pulmonary function test, including a respirator fit test, to ensure safe use of designated respirators.
• Physical Hazards: Potential exposure to vibration from equipment, risk of falls, extreme temperatures, and high noise levels.
• Chemical Hazards: Work may involve exposure to solvents, adhesives, paints, and cleaning agents. Proper use, handling, and storage are essential.
• Biological Hazards: Work may involve exposure to mold, bacteria, and other pathogens commonly found in restoration environments.
• Safety Training: Complete all mandatory safety training, including hazard communication, emergency response, and safe equipment handling.
• Reporting Safety Concerns: Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents, or injuries to supervisors without fear of retaliation.
• Emergency Procedures: Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures, including evacuation routes and emergency contacts.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
• Physical Activities: Ability to perform tasks requiring walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, climbing, squatting, crawling, lifting above shoulder level, and twisting.
• Sitting and Standing: Prolonged sitting or standing required (in office, driving, or at job sites). Regular alternation between sitting and standing.
• Repetitive Motions: Continuous repetitive motion involving hands, wrists, or arms (e.g., typing, data entry).
• Machinery Operation: Capacity to operate machinery and tools, which may require fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Visual Ability: Requirement for clear vision (e.g., close work, computer use, eye-hand coordination).

Working Conditions

• Office Environment: Indoor office setting with standard office equipment (computers, phones, printers). May involve regular meetings (in-person or virtual) and collaboration with team members.
• Field Environment: Outdoor fieldwork at restoration sites, including residential, commercial, or industrial properties. Exposure to varying weather conditions (sun, rain, snow, heat).
• Hazardous Environments: Potential exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, or contaminants; strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE use required.
• Work Hours: Work after hours and weekends may be required given the company’s 24/7 business operations.
• Travel Requirements: Travel to and from job sites using company or personal vehicles. Possibility of attending out-of-town trainings, meetings, or conferences.
