Project Director 21st Century (High Schools)
Coordinates the delivery of developmentally appropriate instruction programs as prescribed by 21st CCLC agreements. Manages and leads 21st CCLC program staff, including teachers, enhancement instructors, and family service coordinators, while providing direct services to actively participating students. Works with 21st CCLC Site Coordinators to assist in supervising program assistants and provides instructional leadership to ensure a highly effective learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Leverage existing resources, including local after-school enrichment programs, youth development education groups, schools, and resource centers to improve BGC programs and raise organizational visibility.
- Cultivate relationships with local youth development and after-school enrichment organizations, educators, philanthropists, and corporations supporting technology in education.
- Build strategic partnerships that bring revenue and opportunity to the program and organization.
- Research and respond to requests for proposals, applications, corporate sponsorships, and private donations to sustain and grow the program.
- Develop, plan, and implement developmentally appropriate instructional programs as prescribed by 21st CCLC agreements to meet program outcomes for school year and summer programs.
- Supervise the ongoing provision of services in specific clubs and schools.
- Recruit, interview, select, and recommend for hire all teachers, enrichment instructors, and other staff assigned to the 21st CCLC program.
- Support teachers and provide instructional leadership in academic and enrichment content areas.
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive staff development plan that supports teachers and facilitates an environment where 21st CCLC outcomes are met.
- Master tools such as Excel and Focus to manage program and participant data and prepare necessary reports.
- Institute a comprehensive internal control system for all purchases and services.
- Recruit students from eligible schools to ensure contracted participation levels are achieved.
- Collect, maintain, and verify all information used for preparing financial and activity reports to funders.
- Create and maintain working relationships with participating school principals, administrators, and the school district to recruit low-performing students from listed feeder schools.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local mandates specific to the 21st CCLC program.
- Maintain an inventory of curriculum-related materials for the 21st CCLC program.
- Develop an advocacy plan to promote the program, its successes, and build funding support.
- Assist in the development of a sustainability plan for the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Beach County 21st CCLC program.
- Supervise the delivery and quality of all contracted services.
- Work closely with Club staff to ensure 21st CCLC and club programs are blended and implemented cohesively across clubs.
- Ensure all 21st CCLC staff are trained in the rules of the BGCPBC and can maintain and enforce club policy.
- Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff, members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, and advise/counsel.
- Maintain contact and build relationships with community groups, schools, external staff, volunteers, donors, and others to recruit or assist in resolving challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years teaching or administrative experience.
- Knowledge of K-12 public curriculum.
- Experience working with youth in an after-school setting.
- Knowledge of youth development best practices.
- Understanding of public funding records management, reporting requirements, and budget practices.
- Ability to supervise and motivate students in a fluid environment.
- Ability to enforce Boys & Girls Clubs rules and policies in a fair and equitable manner.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with safe driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
