Project Designer (Structural EIT)

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, design and detailing for diverse structure types using various building codes
• Cook up design work with in-house staff and other design professionals including Contractors, Architects and Engineers
• Prepare construction documents within a Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment
• Develop precise design specifications and calculations for active projects
• Create technical reports with clear structure and language that clients can easily understand
• Support project management by maintaining schedules, processing change orders, and monitoring budgets
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• 0-5 Years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design
• EIT preferred
• Understanding of processes, compliance, and other design consulting and construction professionals

Required Competencies

• Understanding of standard construction practices and ability to collaborate with contractors to resolve construction issues
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Detail oriented with excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities

Skills

• Working knowledge of current industry software, including RAM, Risa 3-D, Revit, MathCAD, and AutoCAD is preferred
• Knowledge of concrete and steel design codes, masonry, and wood design codes a plus
• Familiarity with local and national building codes and design practices
• Familiarity with transportation codes and safety standards (AASHTO, OSHA) and containment, platform, scaffolding, and/or formwork designs a plus.
