What You Will Be Doing
- Reviews project contract documents to identify and analyze legal risk related to the project or company.
- Reports legal risk and mitigation strategies to project and divisional management.
- Conducts contract reviews for pre-bid and bid phases of the divisions pursuits.
- Drafts and negotiates agreements, including design-build and construction contracts, joint-venture (JV) agreements, concession agreements (P3 transactions), sub-contract agreements with designers and civil contractors, interface agreements, lenders’ direct agreements, and parent company guarantees.
- Works closely with JV partners and external counsel to negotiate deals, completes closing paperwork and closing books.
- Advises project stakeholders of potential disputes and recommends mitigation strategies.
- Prepares and implements user manuals and training sessions for project contracts.
- Reviews and supports submission requirements for all divisional Request for Proposals (RFP).
Requirements
- Juris Doctor required.
- 5+ years’ experience of post-bar professional legal experience required.
- Licensed lawyer for Hawaii, or willing to take the test required.
- Experience in construction industry preferred.
- In-house corporate legal experience preferred.
- Knowledge of construction JV and alternative delivery project contracts preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and drafting skills.
- High-integrity and able to maintain strict confidence with sensitive material and matters.
