Job Summary
The Project Cost Analyst will support project teams with timely, accurate and meaningful financial information. The Project Cost Analyst undertakes all aspects of financial project management, project accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Plans for, manages, monitors and maintains project profitability to achieve Company goals.
- Works with project accounting to ensure costs are posted to the ledger correctly.
- Manages all project cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition.
- Routinely participates in cost review meetings with project team.
- Cooks and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Cooks and prepares the monthly/quarterly forecast reports.
- Researches technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Supports month-end and year-end close process.
- Insures quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Collaborates with project personnel to prepare all required project reporting.
- Creates, develops and implements account process improvement(s).
- Handles other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Physical and Mental Requirements: Self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s); promotes the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners; proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s); able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously; prior working experience as a project cost analyst; self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere; experience in customer interface, such as liaison between the customer and the Company; 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience on large projects $2M+; experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close processes; experience with creating financial statements; advanced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project); advanced project management experience related to ordering materials, P6 Scheduling and Critical Path Methodology; able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed; able to learn Company and customer project management systems.
- Education, Certification, License, And Skill Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; Advanced degree in Accounting, CPA or CMA preferred; Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills; willing to accept responsibility for projects/processes and ability to work with limited direct supervision; highly-motivated, resourceful; Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously; Must have prior working experience as a project cost analyst; Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere; Must have experience in customer interface, such as liaison between the customer and the Company; Must have 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience on large projects $2M+; Must have experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close processes; Must have experience with creating financial statements; Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project); Must have excellent accounting software user and administration skills; Prefer project management experience related to ordering materials, P6 Scheduling and Critical Path Methodology; Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
Pay
Min USD $75,000.00/Yr. Max USD $85,000.00/Yr.Company Overview
