Project Controls Specialist

About the role

The Senior Project Controls Specialist supports program management by developing budgets, tracking costs, analyzing financial data, forecasting, and managing risk. This role ensures projects maintain financial accuracy and stay within budget, contributing to overall project success and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates, budgets, and maintain spend plans and Estimate to Completes (ETCs)
• Monitor project expenses and track costs to support cost control
• Generate forecasts, reports, and financial deliverables
• Apply basic cost control techniques and analyses for various projects
• Support cost control implementation for multiple project and contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M)
• Provide specialized cost reports and review procurement requisitions for funding and cost coding
• Utilize project control tools such as Costpoint, CER, TESS, and dashboards
• Manage sub-contractor requirements and invoicing cycles
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field or equivalent experience
• Typically 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Strong commitment to accurate accounting and cost forecasting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently or in a team
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience with various contract types preferred (firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-award-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, time and material)

Pay

Salary Range: $74,800.00 - $130,900.00
