Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power delivery engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, program management, project controls, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. ECI has an immediate opening for a project controls specialist in Cranford, NJ. The Project Controls Specialist supports engineering, procurement, and construction activities through planning, scheduling, and budget management for utility and substation projects. ECI employs over 850 engineers, designers, project managers, surveyors, ROW agents, environmental planners, construction professionals and support staff in 37 offices across the U.S. The firm has 35 years of experience in the planning, engineering and construction of a wide range of power delivery projects including substations, transmission lines, distribution systems, communication systems and industrial facilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers in timely development and maintenance of schedules
- Maintain budgets in Enterprise Resource Planning system
- Modify appropriate reporting systems with project changes
- Prepare monthly reports indicating budget and schedule status
- Review and evaluate project performance reports, including identification of trends and recommend corrective actions
- Support continuous improvement opportunities demonstrating efficiency and cost savings to company and clients
- Ensure timely creation and maintenance of resource loaded project schedules and accurate reports for clients and project teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field with 5-10+ years of experience or equivalent combination
- Significant background in all components of project controls necessary
- Strong written and oral communication skills and analytical capabilities
- Prior supervisory experience required
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and change approach/method to best fit the situation
- Data management capabilities in areas such as ODBC, SQL, Power BI is valuable but not required

- Occasional travel may be required, therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements

Pay
Compensation Range: $70,000 - $110,000 Annually Salary Commensurate With Experience And Education.
