About the role

This position supports the Nuclear Development project and team by providing schedule and cost development, analysis, reporting, and communications as part of the Nuclear Development organization. The role plays a critical part in project monitoring, risk identification, and accurate costing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating, tracking, and executing project estimates
  • Providing technical direction, guidance, and support to project managers using established tools and processes for developing project scope, detailed project schedules, and cost estimates
  • Performing detailed project analysis and control activities
  • Monitoring and reporting project schedule, scope, and cost changes to project managers and New Nuclear management in a timely manner
  • Providing financial guidance and analytical support within the Budgets Department
  • Preparing budget-to-actual reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, reconciliations of contingency balances, and project reporting
  • Supporting special projects, including budgeting and monitoring labor-related costs, employee benefits, and overhead allocations
  • Utilizing system-generated reporting tools, including online journal entries, General Ledger, Microsoft Power BI, and budget inputs
  • Performing ad hoc reporting and complex budgetary analysis to identify trends and explain variances
  • Supporting the annual budget cycle
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Helping prepare and update budget policies, procedures, desk manuals, and training materials

Requirements

  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology
  • Project Controls experience
  • Detail variance analysis
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Primavera P6
  • Working knowledge of professional project management principles
  • Knowledge of project reporting and project cost analysis
  • Strong administrative and time management skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting to groups
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and data validation skills
  • Ability to establish goals, prioritize work, and understand interrelationships among activities

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required:

  • Project Controls Professional I: Bachelor's degree and four years of experience, or Associate's degree and six years of experience, or High School Diploma/GED and eight years of experience
  • Project Controls Professional II: Bachelor's degree and five years of experience, or Associate's degree and seven years of experience, or High School Diploma/GED and nine years of experience
  • Project Controls Professional III: Bachelor's degree and eight years of experience, or Associate's degree and nine years of experience, or High School Diploma/GED and eleven years of experience
  • Formal training on Primavera P6 or another project management system is required for all levels
