Project Controls Scheduler (Remote)
SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide. This role is fully remote; specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
About the role
The Project Controls Scheduler will develop and maintain integrated EPC schedules on a portfolio of PV solar projects to maintain timely and profitable job completion. The position requires travel to jobsites in the region to lead schedule development and maintenance. Depending on workload, the scheduler may support projects in other regions and will coordinate closely with business units such as battery storage, high voltage, and business development.
Responsibilities
- Use P6 software to develop and maintain EPC project schedules based on realistic execution plans.
- Assist in planning the project by analyzing project documents, design drawings, contracts, and exhibits to understand specific requirements that form the basis of the EPC schedule.
- Perform basic quantity take-offs to establish accurate activity durations and maintain working files used in baseline development, including Excel trackers, weather data, PPA agreements, etc.
- Consult with internal groups (engineering, procurement, project managers, and field management) to gather feedback.
- Seek feedback from stakeholders, including owners and third-party consultants, to increase buy-in and accuracy of the schedule.
- Ensure sound logic and realistic durations are built into the schedule using CPM best practices.
- Attend project meetings (pre-construction, coordination, and monthly owner meetings) to address schedule-related challenges.
- Update the schedule at least twice a month to incorporate actuals, monitor deviations from the critical path, and suggest corrective actions.
- Communicate schedule updates to the project team and senior scheduler; maintain schedule reports in Teams and SharePoint.
- Maintain a company-standard delay log documenting delays from business development to project completion.
- Record weather delays in the P6 schedule and compare them to NOAA normal weather monthly.
- Perform schedule analysis for what-if conditions, change orders, and claims.
- Train field personnel in scheduling procedures and assist project engineers and assistant project managers in maintaining and analyzing schedules.
- Visit jobsites as needed to support scheduling activities.
- Prepare “as-built” schedules reflecting actual conditions and activity dates.
- Maintain the SOLV P6 database with accurate project/activity codes, file management, status/delay comments, and P6 notebooks.
- Support reporting efforts while maintaining core schedule structure and appropriate activity codes.
- Perform other initiatives or responsibilities assigned by the senior scheduler.
Requirements
- Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of project engineering or related experience.
- Experience in scheduling for construction projects specific to high voltage (HV), substations, or other electrical features.
- Prior scheduling experience in an EPC environment is highly desired.
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
- Experience using P6 software required.
- Knowledge of construction methods and processes, including Critical Path Method (CPM).
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including business writing and professional telephone manner.
- Reliability, dependability, and flexibility.
- Ability to travel to jobsites.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Pay
$91,520.00 - $114,400.00 (salary)
