About the role
The Project Controls Scheduler is responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining project and workforce schedules to support successful project execution. This role serves as a critical link between project management, field operations, and leadership by ensuring schedules accurately reflect project scope, sequencing, resource requirements, and production goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
- Review commercial general contractor schedules and identify errors, conflicts, and schedule logic issues
- Create and structure project schedules using a logical and scalable Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Build and manage critical path activities to support on-time project delivery
- Manage multiple active project schedules across various projects simultaneously
- Coincide closely with Project Managers, Installation Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to align schedules with operational needs
- Update schedules to reflect project progress, delays, changes in scope, and recovery plans
- Proactively communicate schedule risks, impacts, and opportunities to project stakeholders
- Aid with labor forecasting, workforce planning, and production dashboards
- Support progress reporting and project controls initiatives
- Maintain accurate scheduling documentation and project records
- Participate in schedule review meetings, planning sessions, and project status updates
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience utilizing Primavera P6 scheduling software
- Minimum 2 years of experience working for a general contractor or subcontractor within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles and critical path management
- Experience developing and managing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project schedules simultaneously
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, dependencies, and project workflows
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively coordinate with field personnel, project teams, and executive stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- Experience supporting multi-project or multi-state operations
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera Unifier, or similar platforms
- Experience with labor forecasting, production tracking, and project controls processes

Work Environment
- Full-time position (40+ hours per week)
- Primarily office-based with ongoing coordination with Project Managers, field leaders, and operations teams
- Ongoing project site visits may be required
- Fast-paced construction environment supporting multiple active commercial projects simultaneously
