Responsibilities
- Own project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow from preconstruction through construction completion.
- Maintain accurate cost-to-complete forecasts, incorporating actuals, commitments, and evolving project scope.
- Ensure alignment between project cost and project schedule.
- Support development and maintenance of project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and cash flow projections across data center projects.
- Track project actuals, commitments, accruals, and forecasted spend against approved budgets.
- Perform variance analysis and identify cost trends, risks, and corrective actions.
- Analyze impacts of scope changes, schedule delays, and procurement changes on project cost performance.
- Track and manage committed vs. incurred spend, ensuring full visibility into project financial position.
- Review and validate contracts, change orders, and invoices in partnership with construction and procurement teams.
- Establish and uphold cost control processes across the project lifecycle.
- Monitor actuals vs. budget and forecast, clearly articulating key drivers of variance.
- Translate project developments into forward-looking cost scope and schedule impacts.
- Identify cost and schedule related risks and opportunities and partner with stakeholders on mitigation strategies.
- Act as the day-to-day finance partner to development, construction, engineering, and procurement teams.
- Provide financial guidance on scope, schedule, and cost tradeoffs to support decision-making.
- Drive accountability and financial discipline across project stakeholders.
- Partner with scheduling teams to align cost forecasts with integrated master schedules.
- Cook up cross-functional inputs from engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Support governance meetings, cost reviews, and related workshops.
- Deliver consistent reporting on budget status, forecast updates, schedule status, and key risks.
- Support FP&A processes related to development capex and portfolio planning.
- Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers, teammates, and leaders across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in cost management, project controls, financial analysis, or project delivery.
- Experience supporting large-scale capital projects strongly preferred.
- Strong budgeting and forecasting skills.
- Familiarity with construction delivery methods and contract structures (e.g., GMP, EPC, design-build).
