Responsibilities
- Create and design effective PMO and Project Controls frameworks, strategies, and governance structures.
- Manage and direct clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams on all PMO and Project Controls matters.
- Lead the project team in administering PMO and Project Controls processes, including cost, schedule, change, risk, and reporting to achieve key objectives.
- Oversee periodic reporting, structured governance, and performance meetings.
- Develop and manage the Baseline (scope, time, cost, risk, assumptions) and monitor delivery performance, change, and contingency, including Quantitative Risk Analysis (cost and time).
- Ensure all activities comply with Mace Control Centre, client requirements, and prevailing legislation.
- Provide line management to junior PMO and Project Controls resources and mentor their personal and career development.
- Innovate and align with industry best practices to maintain service excellence.
- Lead a high-performing PMO and Project Controls team on assigned commissions.
- Support the Hub PMO and Project Control Director with resourcing and recruitment.
- Collaborate toward the common goal of net-zero carbon transition, proactively identifying and managing associated carbon emissions and reductions.
Requirements
- Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience leading PMO and Project Controls functions on major construction projects and within management consultancy environments.
- Proven experience establishing and implementing PMO and Project Controls governance, assurance frameworks, and delivery strategies.
- Expert knowledge of PMO and Project Controls tools and software, including MS Office, Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6, and RiskHive.
- Strong ability to manage complex activities where outcomes and solutions are uncertain or evolving.
- Comprehensive knowledge of risk management tools and systems, including Primavera Risk Analyzer and Active Risk Manager.
- Practical experience using Power BI and other reporting and data visualization tools.
- Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles, dependencies, interfaces, and management consultancy practices.
- Deep domain expertise in delivering PMO and Project Controls leadership across multiple sectors.
- Extensive experience providing project management and project controls services across major construction programmes and portfolios.
- Chartered status (or equivalent) and/or membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Association for Project Management (APM).
