Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates to support large-scale utility capital programs and project portfolios as a key member of the Project Controls organization. This role specializes in reporting, business intelligence, analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence solutions, leading the development of enterprise reporting tools and AI-enabled data solutions for actionable insights into portfolio performance, financials, forecasting, earned value, risk, and project execution metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Business Intelligence & Reporting
    • Design, develop, and maintain dynamic Power BI dashboards and executive reporting solutions.
    • Transform portfolio financial, schedule, KPI, risk, forecast, and vendor data into meaningful insights for project and executive stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain portfolio performance reporting that supports proactive decision-making across multiple capital programs.
    • Create executive-level visualizations and scorecards that enhance visibility into portfolio health and delivery performance.
  • Project Controls Analytics
    • Analyze project cost, schedule, earned value, forecasting, and portfolio performance data.
    • Develop reporting standards and KPI frameworks to drive consistency across projects and programs.
    • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through advanced analysis and reporting techniques.
    • Support Project Managers and Project Controls teams with data-driven recommendations and performance insights.
  • Automation & Innovation
    • Create automated workflows that improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and increase data accuracy.
    • Lead initiatives focused on digital transformation and continuous improvement within the Project Controls organization.
    • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that improve reporting, forecasting, and project analytics capabilities.
  • AI Solutions & Digital Transformation
    • Support the development and enhancement of Microsoft Copilot Studio solutions supporting Project Controls and Project Management.
    • Design AI topics, workflows, and system integrations that improve access to project cost, schedule, forecasting, risk, and KPI information.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-enabled process improvement.
    • Support adoption of enterprise AI capabilities that increase reporting efficiency and business insight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in project controls, business intelligence, portfolio analytics, project financial analysis, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting large capital programs within the utility, energy, infrastructure, engineering, or construction industries preferred.
  • Experience working with executive leadership and managing enterprise-level reporting solutions preferred.
  • Advanced Power BI development experience, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and dashboard design.
  • Strong understanding of project controls principles including:
    • Cost Management
    • Forecasting
    • Earned Value Management (EVM)
    • Schedule Performance
    • Risk Management
    • Estimate at Completion (EAC)
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analytics tools.
  • Experience integrating reporting solutions with ERP systems such as SAP preferred.
  • Experience with Primavera P6, SAP, Microsoft Power Platform, and portfolio management/reporting systems preferred.
  • PMP, PMI-SP, PSP, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the US.

Pay

Target base compensation range for this role is $96,500 - $130,500. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include job-specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
