Accounting$95k–$169k/yrFull-time

About the role

A Project Controller is the “navigator” of a project’s lifecycle, ensuring that complex initiatives stay on track, on time, and within baseline. While the Program Manager focuses on leading people and overall execution, the Project Controller focuses on the data, analyzing costs, program tasks, and schedule status to provide a transparent picture of project health. They use tools, metrics and techniques to report on variances and earned value and report to the Head of Program Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost and Schedule Management: Establish the project’s baseline schedule and cost, manage “Commitment” vs. “Actual” expenditure, and ensure financial viability throughout the project’s duration.
  • Scheduling and Planning: Develop and maintain the project’s Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), identify the “Critical Path,” and alert program management if any link in the chain is slipping.
  • Earned Value Management (EVM): Utilize industry‑standard EVM methods to measure project performance, comparing the value of work performed against planned value to predict final cost and completion date.
  • Forecasting and Trend Analysis: Predict future performance based on current data, identify trends, and provide “What‑If” scenarios to help program management make informed course corrections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Project Management.
  • 10–12 years of experience in project controls or cost engineering.
  • May hold professional certification such as AACE CCP (Certified Cost Professional) or PMP (Program Management Professional).
  • Mastery of MS Project and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Strong communication skills to present complex data to non‑technical stakeholders.

Pay

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range for exempt positions: $95,000 – $169,000.
