About the role

Verdantas is seeking a Project Controls Specialist II to support the Project Manager. This remote opportunity is ideal for professionals with an aptitude for organization, strong communication skills, and an eye for detail and problem-solving. You’ll contribute to meaningful projects that drive environmental and infrastructure solutions while engaging with Verdantas employees and clients to understand their needs.

As part of a collaborative team, you’ll monitor client document control systems to route project inquiries, review status changes, and track upcoming deliverables. You’ll communicate frequently with project teams and Project Managers to monitor and report on design status, billing status, and other key performance indicators (KPIs). This role requires the ability to identify problems, understand their root cause, and take ownership for resolving them.

Responsibilities

  • Request and process project status updates from Project Managers, Area Project Delivery Leaders, and/or Area Leaders via redlined PDFs, emails, text messages, phone calls, team meetings, or one-on-one conversations.
  • Create project summaries and schedule variance reports with Project Managers.
  • Generate project and portfolio-level reports to share with Project Managers and project teams as needed.
  • Submit, download, and/or update forms, paperwork, etc., on external and internal document control systems.
  • Develop Project Schedules using the project scope and Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Create custom project schedules with minimal guidance from Project Managers.
  • Update and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project, Excel Schedule, Vantagepoint Project Plan, and/or Microsoft Teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 1-3 years of Data Analysis Experience.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite – particularly Excel.
  • Past/current experience as a project accountant, project controls, or project management.
  • Experience in Microsoft Project, Vantagepoint, Power BI, Scheduling, or similar programs.

Pay

Salary Range: $65,000–$85,000.
