About the role
Assist in responsibilities related to cost control, budget control, data management, and reporting for large complex construction programs.
Responsibilities
- Project life cycle activities from project setup, maintenance, invoicing support, accruals, financial monthly projections, and support for month-end close.
- Collaborate with Program Manager and other functional departments (business manager, billing, contracts, subcontracts, and operations) to ensure business plans are implemented, forecasts and plans are developed and monitored, and financial objectives are achieved.
- Help prepare and support Quarterly Deep Dive, AOP, and monthly forecast.
- Develop and maintain Estimates at Completion (EAC) and assist in accurate projections of Estimates to Complete (ETC).
- Apply EVMS methodologies to ensure cost and schedule are appropriately reflected in time-phased forecasts.
- Reporting and variance analysis for Revenue, Profit, cash backlog, and Risk and Opportunities.
- Identify best practices and coordinate the development and implementation of project controls tools and procedures.
- Detailed analysis and validation of financial data to ensure accuracy and reasonableness.
- Organize program and project-level financial data to enable timely and accurate reports.
- Develop metrics and reports to provide accurate and timely information to management and stakeholders.
- Develop new program and project control processes and procedures related to budgets, estimates, schedules, and roll-up of program information.
- Review proposed project budget and scope changes for proper justification and documentation.
- Troubleshoot project-specific budget, scope, schedule, funding, or documentation issues by working with other Divisions, Branches, or Departments.
- Manage sub-contractor and client invoice cycles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (or related field) as well as 3+ years of related work experience preferred, or equivalent work experience required.
- Working knowledge of software used in the Project Controls Department, such as Excel, Forecasting Tools, and Costpoint.
- Experience in Primavera and Scheduling software is a plus.
- Must be comfortable working virtually and doing daily check-ins with management on project updates.
