Responsibilities
- Attend Project Meetings, lead and/or support all project activities where purchasing is involved till completion of project closure
- Support the Program Manager with a sourcing plan to define mutual commitments and conditions
- Select supplier bid-list based on Compliant Segment Panel and combine with Project and Segment organizations to identify bundle opportunities
- Identify critical parts as per CLEAN definitions and review contingency plans with related Program Team Members (PTMs), requesting Program Manager arbitration when required
- Coordinate and plan supplier design reviews in an effort to capture improvement proposals, obtain Supplier acceptance of Valeo Requirements, and enhance competition
- Make the best possible use of all Puma features and promote its usage among the project team
- Involve Segment Leader (or Group Segment Director) in appropriate timing to share project constraints and propose sourcing strategy compliant with Group Segment Strategy
- Assess pre-selected suppliers risk impacts on the project related to development or production capacity, technical or quality capability, financial sustainability
- Propose with project team & commodity organization mitigation plan and ensure it is properly recorded in Puma Pre-SoCo & SoCo section and/or one-page documents
- Propose lotting and RFP tactics and anticipate use of auctions with the project team
- Perform RFQ process via Puma & auction
- Leverage commodity organization to reach pre-sourcing, sourcing decisions and meet project targets
- Anticipate and escalate issues to the appropriate organizational level to ensure required risk mitigation plans and segment strategies are enforced
- Ensure timely sign off with stakeholders to achieve successful auction events
- Ensure permanent update of sourcing process milestones to guarantee reliability of forecast to enable anticipation of bundling opportunity and business link item selection
- Pilot and forecast the project purchasing index and lead the productivity action plan to reach CAA targets
- Ensure proper transfer to serial production including productivity actions yet to be implemented
- Ensure creation of early open order in SAP in coordination with productivity buyer
- Define and control communication flows and content between project teams and suppliers
- Ensure all necessary documentation is properly stored in Puma
- Manage achievement of all project milestones related to suppliers and follow their progress
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or similar and related field
- Minimum of 4 years experience in purchasing, preferably in automotive manufacturing or in another manufacturing environment
- SAP experience (preferred)
- Purchasing experience with electronics or plastics commodities (preferred)
- Experience with autonomous negotiations and costing for components
