About the role
Join us in creating a better world through design. Your Role As a Gensler Project Architect, your creativity and thoughtfulness will create opportunities in the authorship of engaging human experiences in the built environment. You have professional skills and technical acumen which enable your development and execution of design.
Responsibilities
- Engage directly with senior design leadership and design teams from early development through the construction documentation phases
- Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
- Manage project team and coordination of consultants
- Produce BIM models and construction drawings
- Resolve challenging technical and design issues with the team to produce innovative, technical and constructible solutions
- Provide Mentorship and coaching to grow junior staff members
- Participate in office culture and initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited school
- Licensure required. 15+ years of experience as a project architect, with a strong background in workplace interiors
- Experience working with Revit is required
- Proficiency with SketchUp, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not required
- Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants
- Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
- Effective communicator, collaborative and team-conscious
- Experience working directly with contractors
- A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Experience resolving complex technical and design issues
- Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiple jurisdictions
- Understanding of how buildings are constructed, along with the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be done
- Understanding of sustainable and universal design concepts
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
- Previous experience in sustainable design projects is preferable
