Responsibilities

• Provide limited, high-level production supervision for work involving complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
• Assist the Project Manager with all aspects of managing multiple small to large-scale projects.
• Supervise the preparation and accuracy of contract documents.
• Incorporate applicable codes, construction techniques, and sequences in various projects, including cross-discipline aspects.
• Supervise and/or perform site observations, such as recording and reporting existing conditions and construction progress.
• Handle problems and questions during construction.
• Maintain responsibility for project cost control.
• Manage external communications, including telephone calls and correspondence with clients, officials, and contractors.
• Write reports such as feasibility studies, condition reports, and recommendations.
• Supervise and perform building code reviews and prepare applications.
• Make major design decisions involving spatial, aesthetic elements, and material detailing.
• Document project progression through correspondence and memos.
• Follow projects through approvals and construction.
• Initiate contact with clients and building officials.
• Exercise professional judgment in areas of contractual liability.
• Make public presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent.
• Registered as a licensed architect.
• 8–12 years of experience as an architect.
• Experience leading a project team.
• Knowledge of estimating project needs and translating them into budget hours/costs.
• Ability to monitor budgets and make necessary adjustments to stay on track.
• Capable of providing leadership to a team performing a sequence of tasks.
• Ability to motivate a team to meet projected milestones and adjust procedures to keep progress on target.
• Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, and Bluebeam.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Newforma software.
• Excellent grasp of building technology fundamentals.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant codes, operations, processes, and trends.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks with competing priorities.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to provide clear direction.
• Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity.

Preferred Skills

• Master of Architecture.
• Experience with Newforma Project Analyzer.
• Experience with Microsoft Project.
• Additional relevant certifications (e.g., construction administration, interior design, LEED/Green Globes sustainability).
