About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Architect to join our Healthcare Practice in Philadelphia. This position is ideal for a licensed architect with a strong background in healthcare design who enjoys combining design thinking with the technical execution necessary to successfully deliver complex projects. The Project Architect will help lead projects throughout the full lifecycle, from schematic design through construction administration, ensuring design intent, technical quality, regulatory compliance, documentation, and client expectations are maintained throughout delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural projects through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration
  • Guide the development of drawings, models, specifications, and other project documentation
  • Translate design concepts into technically sound and constructible building solutions
  • Coordinate architectural design with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other engineering disciplines
  • Apply applicable building codes, healthcare regulations, accessibility standards, and life safety requirements
  • Lead and review architectural documentation produced by project teams
  • Develop and review project specifications
  • Select and research appropriate building materials and systems
  • Manage construction administration activities and coordinate with contractors throughout construction
  • Review construction cost estimates and develop alternatives when necessary to maintain project budgets
  • Help manage project fees, staffing resources, schedules, and deliverables
  • Participate in planning, programming, and development of spatial configurations
  • Support sustainable design goals and environmentally responsible design solutions
  • Maintain high standards for technical quality and project documentation
  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior architectural staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture required; Master of Architecture preferred
  • Registered Architect (RA) required in at least one state with ability to obtain registration in additional states
  • Strong experience with healthcare architecture and healthcare facility design
  • Experience delivering complex architectural projects from design through construction
  • Strong technical knowledge of building construction, documentation, materials, and detailing
  • Experience with construction documents and construction administration
  • Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, and life safety standards
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary architecture and engineering teams
  • Strong Revit/BIM capabilities preferred
  • Experience developing and/or reviewing architectural specifications
  • Strong communication, organization, project leadership, and client-facing capabilities
  • Sustainability accreditation such as LEED AP is a plus
  • Healthcare project experience is strongly preferred

Pay

$100,000 - $130,000 per year
