About the role
AHL, formerly Architects Hawaii Ltd., is seeking a Project Architect with Department of Defense (DoD) experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will manage, coordinate, and oversee production and design of DoD and non-DoD projects.
Responsibilities
- Manages technical direction, coordination, and production of DoD projects including non-DoD work.
- Oversees design development and construction documents.
- Captures and coordinates design of the project with both outside consultants and in-house project teams.
- Coordinates all design and technical details.
- Designs and develops technical design concepts, plans, elevations, sections, and details.
- Manages the preparation of design drawings by other designers.
- Reviews documents for code compliance.
- Aids in solutions to general architectural problems.
- Acts as job captain in the absence of this position.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required.
- Minimum of ten (10) years substantial experience in all phases of architecture, including five (5) years of substantial project architect and management experience on DoD projects.
- Architectural registration required.
- Substantial knowledge of DoD procedures for design, management, and production of construction and design development documents.
- Thorough knowledge of architectural planning, detailing, drafting, construction materials and methods.
- Working knowledge of related engineering principles and building codes.
- Proficiency in CAD, Revit, and/or 3-D software programs preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Experience in all phases of architecture, including DoD projects.
- Knowledge of DoD procedures and building codes.
- Skills in CAD, Revit, and/or 3-D software programs.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $92,000 to $114,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
