Responsibilities

  • Ensures the overall design intent of the project established by the Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed project documentation
  • Maintains oversight of the design process from the conceptual phase through construction administration, validating that the design idea is properly executed
  • Responsible for the technical resolution and coordination of a defined portion of one or more projects, including the coordination of drawings and specifications
  • Reviews the accuracy and completeness of reports, plans, estimates, and calculations
  • Captures and tracks shared electronic documentation and files with the project team, clients, and consultants
  • Writes reports and documentation to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutions
  • Prepares minutes of consultant coordination meetings
  • Manages project documents and identifies the sheets planned for each stage of the work, including defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM)
  • Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the project team
  • Coordinates communication with other service lines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements, providing support when necessary
  • Manages construction details for quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards
  • Supervises the preparation of technical drawings by other team members
  • Directs the work of team members, providing mentoring and development opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • Professional license required
  • Environmental accreditation preferred
  • 15+ years of experience managing small to mid-size architectural projects, including urban and resort hotels, mixed-use and renovation projects
  • Strong proficiency in Revit required
  • AutoCAD and 3D modeling software, such as Rhino and SketchUp, a plus
  • Sketching skills required
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems, integrated design, trends, construction methodology, QA/QC process, building codes
  • Experienced in client management and negotiations
  • Effective project management skills, keeping within established deadlines and budgets
  • Works successfully in a team environment and has experience supervising teams
  • Manages multiple priorities of competing demand
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
