Responsibilities
- Ensures the overall design intent of the project established by the Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed project documentation
- Maintains oversight of the design process from the conceptual phase through construction administration, validating that the design idea is properly executed
- Responsible for the technical resolution and coordination of a defined portion of one or more projects, including the coordination of drawings and specifications
- Reviews the accuracy and completeness of reports, plans, estimates, and calculations
- Captures and tracks shared electronic documentation and files with the project team, clients, and consultants
- Writes reports and documentation to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutions
- Prepares minutes of consultant coordination meetings
- Manages project documents and identifies the sheets planned for each stage of the work, including defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM)
- Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the project team
- Coordinates communication with other service lines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements, providing support when necessary
- Manages construction details for quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards
- Supervises the preparation of technical drawings by other team members
- Directs the work of team members, providing mentoring and development opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
- Professional license required
- Environmental accreditation preferred
- 15+ years of experience managing small to mid-size architectural projects, including urban and resort hotels, mixed-use and renovation projects
- Strong proficiency in Revit required
- AutoCAD and 3D modeling software, such as Rhino and SketchUp, a plus
- Sketching skills required
- Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems, integrated design, trends, construction methodology, QA/QC process, building codes
- Experienced in client management and negotiations
- Effective project management skills, keeping within established deadlines and budgets
- Works successfully in a team environment and has experience supervising teams
- Manages multiple priorities of competing demand
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
