Responsibilities
- Lead the interior design process across all project phases, including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, specifications, furniture selection, and construction administration.
- Direct the conceptual development of interior environments while maintaining design quality, technical accuracy, and alignment with client objectives.
- Serve as the primary interior design lead for assigned projects, coordinating closely with project managers, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and clients.
- Manage interior design project budgets, schedules, staffing, and resource allocation in collaboration with project leadership.
- Lead client meetings, programming sessions, user group meetings, presentations, and design workshops.
- Develop and oversee finish palettes, furniture strategies, specifications, material selections, and technical detailing.
- Review project documents for design quality, constructability, code compliance, and coordination.
- Provide design direction and quality control for project teams throughout the design process.
- Mentor, coach, and develop interior design staff while providing technical guidance and design leadership.
- Support business development efforts by participating in interviews, proposals, client presentations, and relationship-building activities.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging products, healthcare design research, codes, and best practices.
- Contribute to the advancement of IKM’s interior design standards, processes, and professional development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited institution.
- 10+ years of professional interior design experience.
- Extensive healthcare interior design experience required.
- NCIDQ Certification and/or interior design licensure preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex interior design projects through all phases.
- Strong understanding of planning, patient-centered design, operational workflows, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proven ability to mentor staff and lead multidisciplinary project teams.

Pay
$86,700 – $112,400 and is based on experience
