Responsibilities
- Leadership: Ensures the overall design intent of the project is incorporated into detailed documentation.
- Design Process: Monitors the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring consistency and proper execution.
- Technical Coordination: Resolves and coordinates technical aspects of a defined portion of a project.
- Specification Development: Works with the Specification Writer to develop specifications and coordinates drawings and specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Checks completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.
- Project Strategy: Sets the overall strategy for producing documents and defines file organization and BIM elements.
- Team Management: Manages project team software parameters and oversees the preparation of technical drawings by less experienced staff.
- Supervision: Supervises the work of less experienced staff and mentors them.
- Communication: Communicates with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure all information is incorporated into project requirements.
- Construction Support: Ensures construction detail documentation conforms to quality assurance and best practice standards.
- Client Interface: Develops a positive relationship of trust with client leadership and communicates with client representatives.
- Teamwork: Receives project direction from the Principal in Charge and Technical direction from the RBU Technical Principal.
- Documentation: Assists in planning and conducting work, prepares and coordinates review of contractor’s schedules, and submits shop drawings and samples.
- Specifications: Involved in specification setup and drawing coordination, research, and appropriate use of HOK Standards.
- Support: Provides support to all team members for specific market, discipline, or other areas of expertise.
- Meetings: Attends on-site visits, field reviews, and project meetings, prepares meeting minutes, and assists in resolving project issues.
- Presentations: Prepares and coordinates 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings and builds models for client/project team review.
- Sustainable Design: Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years’ design experience.
- Licensed Architect with current registration in your region required, if licensure is offered in your region.
- NCARB registration preferred.
- LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.
