About the role
Bloom is seeking a Project Architect with a strong background in various market sectors, including governmental, commercial, K-12, higher education, transit/transportation facilities, and industrial clients. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, client service-oriented, and possess experience in both design and technical aspects of projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop solutions to both design and technical aspects of projects
- Lead research efforts related to building and zoning codes, and be knowledgeable in jurisdictional processes
- Work on multiple projects while meeting budget and schedule constraints
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal and external team members, clients, and other agencies
- Prepare and lead technical presentations to clients and project stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of proposals and marketing pursuits, including research and presentations
- Manage business development strategy, network of contacts, and research new market opportunities
- Identify and resolve challenges that may arise during the business development process
- Ensure a steady pipeline of projects for existing clients
- Grow the company's market presence in the architectural sector through identifying opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, and leveraging industry knowledge
- Attend industry events, conferences, and community gatherings to meet potential clients, collaborators, and influencers
- Develop drawings in all phases of project documentation, from conceptual/presentation to technical/construction documents
- Contribute to the development of project specifications
- Research and coordinate materials and products for project specifications
- Participate in activities that strengthen the company's culture, knowledge base, and capabilities
- Mentor and help develop staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Registered Architect or demonstrate progress toward becoming a Registered Architect - NCARB is a plus, but not required
- Multidisciplinary experience in any or all of the following markets: Governmental, Commercial, K-12, Higher Education, Transit/Transportation Facilities, and Industrial
- Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Strong leadership, team management, client communications skills
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and other modeling or rendering software
- Commitment to challenging oneself to constantly improve and keep learning
- Team player willing to accept a full range of responsibilities
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Project Management training is preferred
