About the role

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Project Architect for immediate employment in our Virginia Beach office. This position will work on a variety of interesting projects within the Federal sector, private, and public safety.

Responsibilities

  • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
  • Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
  • Coinciding technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
  • May review and approve conceptual designs.
  • May assist in the development of new architectural methods and techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture plus six (6) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • An Architecture license is required for this position, (preferably in VA with NCARB).
  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture plus six (6) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in DoD and Federal Government related projects , UFCs, and standards. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and ten (10) years of relevant experience. Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and PowerPoint. Experience in public safety-related projects such as police facilities, emergency operation centers, emergency communication centers, and training facilities. Experience with Adobe Creative Suites, or other related graphic software. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Diverse knowledge of architectural principles and practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Skills

Benefits

Relocation is not available for this position. Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $100000 to $140000. yearly.
