PROJECT ARCHAEOLOGISTS (GLOUCESTERSHIRE, CAMBRIDGESHIRE, SUFFOLK)
York Archaeology delivers commercial archaeological services from offices at York, Sheffield and Nottingham. About the role
We require Project Archaeologists on a fixed-term basis (3 months in the first instance) for fieldwork projects within Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, and Gloucestershire. Applicants local to these areas are encouraged to apply. Contracts will be project-specific, and extensions may be available in line with project needs.
Requirements
- A degree in archaeology or related discipline and an appropriate level of demonstrable experience
- Minimum 6 months experience within commercial fieldwork, successful completion of an existing training scheme, or demonstrable equivalent experience
Skills
- A full, UK driving licence would be advantageous, but not essential
- A willingness to drive site vehicles, including welfare vans, would be extremely desirable
- CIfA membership would be advantageous, but not essential
- A First Aid at Work certificate would be advantageous, but not essential

£28,038 per annum
Schedule
37 hours per week
Initial 3-month contracts, with scope for extension. Successful candidates must provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK. Closing date: 27th September 2026.
