We could also include Qualifications but maybe not needed. However we have both Requirements and Qualifications; we could treat Requirements as education/experience, Qualifications as skills? But we don't have separate skills list. Could combine Qualifications with Requirements? The instruction says use headings for those categories if content exists. We have content for Requirements; we could also have Qualifications but maybe duplicate. Safer to include only Requirements and maybe Skills if we can extract skills from duties? But we should not invent. Better to not create Qualifications if no distinct content. Pay:Pay
The annual budgeted salary range for this position is $86,381.13 – $97,634.37.
Schedule:Schedule
This is a full-time position at the Los Angeles, CA campus with a minimum of three days on campus, based on division needs. Travel is an expected component of this position which may, in rare circumstances, include weekends.
We should not include repeated lines like "Job ID REQ20180976" etc. Also we should not include "Apply Current employees apply here" etc. We must ensure we didn't miss any substantive info: The department description, role purpose, duties list, education/experience, preferred education, field of expertise, salary, schedule. Also note that there is a line "When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations." This is boilerplate about offer considerations; could be considered generic and maybe not needed? It's not a specific benefit or requirement; it's generic HR language. Might be considered boilerplate; but it's not EEO etc. However it's still somewhat generic; but it's substantive? It's describing how offers are determined. Might be considered boilerplate but not explicitly listed to remove. The instruction says remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. This is not exactly those categories; it's about offer considerations. Might be okay to keep but could be considered generic. However to be safe, we could keep it as part of About the role or maybe a separate section? There's no heading for it. Could add a paragraph under About the role. But it's not about the role; it's about offer process. Might be considered boilerplate but not explicitly prohibited. I'd lean to keep it as part of About the role or maybe a separate "Selection Process" but not required heading. Since we only have prescribed headings, we could incorporate it into About the role as extra paragraph. But the instruction says "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." So we could add that paragraph to About the role. Let's add after the role description: a paragraph about offer considerations. Thus About the role will have three paragraphs: department description, role description, offer considerations. Now ensure we didn't duplicate any lines. Check for duplicate lines: The posting had repeated "Minimum Education: Master's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 3 years, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience". We have included only once each. We also have "Preferred Education: Doctorate" included. We have "Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education and project administration experience in specialized field represented by project." included. Now check that we didn't miss any duty sentences: The duties list includes many items; we captured them all? Let's verify from text: "Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To: Assists a principal investigator with formulating research objectives.
