Project Accounting & Billing Intern (Summer 2027)

About the role
QC Servion is seeking a Project Accounting & Billing Intern to join our Accounting Team for Summer 2027. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting project accounting and billing functions across the QC Ecosystem, which includes multiple professional services organizations serving mission-critical industries. The intern will work closely with Project Accountants, Billing Specialists, and Project Managers to gain exposure to project setup, contract administration, invoicing, revenue tracking, and financial reporting. This role offers an opportunity to learn how accounting supports project delivery throughout the entire project lifecycle while developing practical experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with project setup activities within Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Support project data maintenance, including contract information, task structures, and billing details.
- Assist with preparation and review of client invoices.
- Help validate project-related expenses, time entries, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with monitoring project billing status and aging reports.
- Support Project Accountants and Billing Specialists with contract administration activities.
- Organize and maintain project financial records and billing documentation.
- Participate in project review meetings and financial discussions.
- Assist with invoice and billing discrepancy research.
- Support month-end and year-end accounting activities related to projects and billing.
- Assist with data analysis and financial reporting.
- Support project audits and documentation reviews.
- Participate in ERP training and process improvement initiatives.
- Complete special projects and ad hoc assignments as needed.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing; Junior and Senior students preferred.
- Strong interest in project accounting, finance, or professional services accounting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Travel
Up to 5%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states. Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meetings for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
Pay
$24 USD per hour
Schedule
This is a summer internship running from the third week of May through the second week of August.
