About the role

This role supports Ryan Companies' growing Mission Critical sector, primarily in their Minneapolis, MN office. The Construction Project Accountant is responsible for financial and reporting requirements for assigned construction management projects.

Responsibilities

  • Create and administer owner billings to exact schedule and timekeeping requirements
  • Proactively collect open receivables
  • Develop and administer processes and procedures to meet compliance requirements
  • Communicate with Project Managers, Director of Construction, and other necessary internal personnel
  • Administer prime contractor process including insurance and registration process specific to the project
  • Handle general administrative tasks such as filing, correspondence, scanning, copying, data entry
  • Aid in drafting prime contracts for PM and owner review and approval
  • Aid in drafting change orders for PM and owner review and approval
  • Respond quickly to any job-specific accounting questions or issues
  • Manage accounting and contract closeout process with owner on projects

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of accounting and administrative experience in a commercial environment
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a business-related field
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with good mathematical aptitude
  • Knowledge of accounting, invoicing, and audit procedures
  • Ability to collaborate and contribute professionally within a team structure

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Self-motivation to accurately and efficiently complete all aspects of the project with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and driven for continuous improvement

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with project management software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Pay

The salary range is $80,000 - $100,000. The salary base rate may vary based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
