About the role
SCHERDEL Sales & Technology, Inc. is seeking a hands-on, dependable Machine Operator to operate advanced Bihler automated forming and assembly equipment used in high-precision metal component manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Operate Bihler metal forming and assembly machines for production of precision parts
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and comparators to ensure accuracy
- Read and interpret blueprints, part drawings, and verbal/written instructions
- Adhere to ISO/IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental systems
- Load raw materials, start production runs, and monitor machine operations
- Perform basic machine adjustments (after training) and report technical issues promptly
- Accurately record part counts, downtime, and scrap data
- Collaborate with team leads and supervisors to support continuous improvement
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation in line with 5S and safety standards
Requirements
- Must be available to train on 1st shift (Monday–Friday) for a minimum of 6 months
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing or machine operation
- Ability to read blueprints and use standard precision measurement tools
- A consistent and reliable attendance history
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and improve
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Previous experience operating automated forming or stamping machinery
- Familiarity with Bihler or other high-speed precision forming systems
- Automotive or ISO-certified production background
