Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets documents (blue prints, drawing, or manufacturing work orders), to ascertain what tools and materials are necessary for producing products to precision tolerance to aircraft specification.
- Sets up and operates, on a production basis, all assigned headers and their related products. This includes settings and adjustments required to produce parts to specifications.
- Selects, mounts, and aligns tooling attachments and materials in proper order and relationship.
- Makes all adjustments necessary to produce parts of acceptable quality.
- Loads machines with raw material and monitors production run using measuring devices, such as, comparators, micrometers, calipers and various other inspect gauges.
- Reworks and directs reworking of tooling as needed.
- Keeps accurate statistical process control records, when required, on each job manufactured, making adjustments during production run as the SPC data directs.
- Maintains all productivity levels and quality requirements to support departmental goals and schedules.
- Provides training to departmental personnel for all aspects of machine set up and operation.
- Performs minor preventative maintenance on assigned machines.
- Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience in heading aircraft quality fasteners on multi-die machines required (4 and 5 die Progressive Header).
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Compensation
In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $24.00-$46.00 per hour. Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
