About The Role As a Progress OpenEdge Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable enterprise applications using Progress OpenEdge technologies. You will be a valued member of the Application Development team and work collaboratively with architects, business stakeholders, QA teams, and cross-functional IT teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned to business needs. In This Role, You Will Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Progress 4GL/OpenEdgeBuild and support REST and SOAP web services for system integrationsDevelop object-oriented OpenEdge solutions leveraging modern design practicesOptimize application performance, scalability, and reliabilityTroubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide ongoing support What you need to have to be considered 7+ years of hands-on experience in Progress OpenEdge developmentProficiency in Progress OpenEdge (11.7 & 12.2), 4GL, PASOE, AppServer, and GUI programmingProven experience with object-oriented programming in OpenEdgeHands-on experience building web services (SOAP/REST) and system integrationsStrong experience with performance tuning, debugging, and application optimizationDeliver high-quality OpenEdge application development across the full SDLCDrive integration solutions using APIs, XML, and JSONImprove performance, scalability, and reliabilityProvide production support and resolve complex technical issuesCollaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions These will help you stand out Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and web technologiesExperience with .NET OpenClient developmentKnowledge of Claims domainExperience with API programmingFamiliarity with SVN and SQLExtend solutions to modern web-based integrationsSupport hybrid architectures through .NET interoperabilityBring domain expertise to accelerate delivery in claims-based environmentsStrengthen API-driven architecturesImprove development efficiency using version control and database best practices Work model: Hybrid preferred At Cognizant, we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible, and we are here to support a healthy work-life balance through our various wellbeing programs.
