About the role
The Programs Manager of the Oklahoma Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (OLBPH) oversees and manages the daily operations of this statewide program within the Division of Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired of the Department of Rehabilitation Services.
Responsibilities
- Provides guidance and oversight for all library services and programs.
- Serves as the primary supervisor of all library employees.
- Oversees the Travis Harris library building and grounds.
- Performs all job-related travel as required.
Requirements
- Education: A Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program, or a Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience.
- Experience: One year of professional experience at Level II, three years at Level III, or four years at Level IV.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of agency policies and procedures, state and federal legislation, supervisory principles and practices.
- Skills: Ability to supervise and evaluate personnel, communicate effectively, interpret and apply policy material, maintain effective working relationships, and exercise good judgment.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform all job-related travel.
- Preference given to candidates with a Master’s degree in Library Science.
Skills
- Proficiency in American Sign Language.
- Eligibility to sit for certification exams such as CRC, CVE, PVE, or LPC.
