Programmer

Responsibilities

• Develop and write CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machines based on engineering drawings and specifications.
• Select cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates; write instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machine.
• Analyze and evaluate computer test-runs and prove-outs to determine if specifications are met; determine procedural and programming logic to improve proficiency and accuracy of CNC program.
• Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality control to ensure accurate and timely production.

Qualifications

• Preferred Education / Experience: Associate's Degree in related discipline and/or equivalent 5+ years of related discipline; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to above.
• Preferred Knowledge / Ability: Strong working knowledge of comprehensive 3D CAD systems, such as Mastercam or NX, including 3D modeling and analysis of geometry; Solid knowledge of manufacturing operations; Strong knowledge of a variety of CNC machines and controllers; Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, and proportions to practical situations; Strong written and verbal communication.
