Programme Facilitator – Herne Bay Playcentre

About the role

As a Programme Facilitator, you lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of our Space sessions. You strive to create engaging, nurturing experiences for whānau and pēpi. The role is part‑time (3.5 hours per week) on Thursdays from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm, starting 15 October 2026, during term time only, based at 211 Jervois Road, Herne Bay, Auckland.

Responsibilities

• Planning and setup of the sessions, ensuring any equipment is safe and clean
• Leading discussions, music and movement, play, crafts, and kai time
• Building relationships with whānau and contributing to a safe, welcoming environment
• Ensuring session admin tasks are completed on time

Requirements

• Minimum Course 3 of the Playcentre Education Diploma or equivalent ECE qualification (Level 4 or above desired)
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one
• Proven ability to engage confidently and build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
• Strong organisational capabilities, including time management, meeting deadlines, multitasking, and balancing detail with overall objectives
• New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa
