Responsibilities
- Support teachers in implementing age-appropriate educational activities and lesson plans.
- Aid in classroom management and daily routines.
- Provide care and supervision to children while ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Support classroom transitions, outdoor play, meal times, and rest periods.
- Aid in maintaining a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Help prepare classroom materials and learning centers.
- Float between classrooms as needed to provide coverage and support.
- Follow all Goddard School, state licensing, and health and safety regulations.
- Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all children.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with young children preferred.
- Coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education is a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing classroom needs.
- Positive, reliable, and professional attitude.
- Must be able to meet all Connecticut state requirements for early childhood educators.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and sitting on the floor.
- Ability to actively engage with children indoors and outdoors.
