The Program Supplier Quality Engineer (PSQE) is the primary quality interface between Raytheon's organization and the external supply base. The PSQE provides communication of requirements and performance feedback to suppliers while serving as a conduit for quality information back to internal functions and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous product and process improvements of our supply base by identifying supplier risk and systemic performance issues using tools such as Root Cause Corrective Actions, Product & Process Verifications, Six Sigma, and Lean Methodologies.
  • Ensure flow down of product and process requirements to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Identify risk in the supply base and develop robust supplier engagement plans to mitigate these risks.
  • Communicate and interpret technical requirements as the liaison between the supply base and Engineering for drawing changes and disposition of nonconformance.
  • Implement effective Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), including FRACAS investigations and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR).
  • Oversee and/or conduct on-site Source Surveillance, Source Inspection, First Article Verification, and Corrective Action reviews.
  • Participate in design reviews, program reviews, process change reviews, supplier reviews, qualification test reviews, and Test Equipment verification and validation to mitigate escape risk.
  • Communicate effectively to Raytheon leadership and customers through business reviews and status meetings.
  • Drive quality activities and support hardware management teams, following up on quality initiatives and metrics.
  • Travel domestically up to 50% to support supplier assessments, audits, and reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience interpreting schematic drawings and validating compliance (e.g., hardware inspection techniques, documentation reviews).
  • Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience using quality tools (e.g., Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date, with the ability to obtain program access afterward.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven success in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers/customers.
  • Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and industry technical standards (e.g., ANSI, CMMI, ASTM).
  • Experience with Quality Management standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9145, or MDA Assurance Provisions.
  • Experience conducting and completing AS9102 First Article Inspections.
  • Experience with aerospace or commercial equivalent preventative tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Lean Manufacturing, or Control Plans.
  • ASQ certifications.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $68,900 - $131,100 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
