About the role

The Program Supervisor – DBE & SBE position is responsible for overseeing the implementation and administration of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program, and DBE/SBE Supportive Services. The position involves monitoring and reporting compliance with applicable standards and requirements. Occasional travel to program sites, conferences, and trainings is required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report compliance with federal and state regulations for DBE and SBE programs.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for DBE and SBE programs.
  • Manage and supervise a team of four employees.
  • Occasionally travel to program sites, conferences, and trainings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Communication, Education, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • 3 years of experience in program management, reporting and analysis, and general accounting practices.
  • 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in building relationships with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures as well as internal and external agency contacts.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information to develop policies and/or guides.
  • Concepts and theories of program planning, administration specifically federally funded programs.
  • Proficient in Excel.

Skills

  • Broad knowledge of civil rights laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

Pay

The advertised salary includes a 2.5% increase passed by the 2025 MT State Legislature regarding the state pay plan effective July 1, 2026.

Schedule

Hybrid remote work arrangement available.

  • Driver’s record will be verified.
  • Successful applicants will be required to sign a release form which authorizes the Department to obtain the applicant’s permanent driving records.
  • Compliance with Mont. Admin. R. 2.6.201, "State Vehicle Use," and MDT Policy #6.03.001, "State Vehicle Use Policy" are conditions of employment.
