About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer Sr will drive improvement initiatives that support tooling and facilitation ramp efforts for Air Dominance Production Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support design, fabrication, assembly, validation, and deployment of manufacturing tools and electromechanical systems, including robots, conveyors, vision systems, and programmable controllers.
  • Participate in strategy and execution of cost-reduction initiatives across LM sites and the supply base.
  • Influence design for manufacturability and ensure producibility of complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Lead capital planning, vendor/integrator engagement, and project management to deploy automated solutions at multiple sites.
  • Travel 10-20% to facilitate projects within LM sites and the supply base.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or STEM Related Discipline
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Experience working within cross-functional groups, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various teams and stakeholders
  • Technical knowledge and experiences in the areas of defensive and aerospace manufacturing, process development and production testing

Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

Skills

  • At least 2+ years prior experience in a manufacturing role directly supporting the shop floor or related experience
  • Working knowledge of Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), with applications to tooling and designs
  • Working knowledge of Electro-Mechanical assembly processes
  • Knowledge of Digital Transformation and Automation Processes in a Manufacturing Assembly Environment
  • Experience facilitating design reviews with cross-functional departments and stakeholders, using CAD, PowerPoint, and other visualization tools
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma manufacturing, concepts, and techniques
