About the role

The Program Manager, Professional Services will lead market research and drive strategic development, marketing expansion, and further revenue growth for AP’s suite of products and services primarily serving professional communicators, including AP Learning online workshops, AP Planner planning tool, and AP Stylebook writing guidance. This role is central to AP’s efforts to diversify its customer base and revenue streams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead program management for products in the AP Professional Services suite.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with stakeholders at all levels and facilitate collaboration among diverse teams, internally and externally.
  • Analyze data, assess risks, and resolve complex issues to advance the development of each product.
  • Liaise and drive cohesion between groups, driving clear communication, accountability, and transparency.
  • Influence and communicate with internal/external stakeholders, including executive leadership, to gain buy-in and report on value.
  • Drive execution, oversee program lifecycle, track progress, manage budgets, assess risks, and ensure timely, quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with leadership to define program strategies, set goals, and align tech program objectives with overall business goals.
  • Provide clear reporting as defined by key stakeholders, including bi-weekly updates and monthly and quarterly reports.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience managing and overseeing strategic projects, defining objectives, managing budgets, mitigating risks, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding and passion for the AP’s mission.
  • Proven success collaborating with all levels of management.
  • Strong understanding of the media industry and the needs of professional communicators.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience managing third-party vendor relationships and other external partners.
  • Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple projects and issues at once.
  • Meticulous attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
  • Experience coaching and educating project teams to strengthen team members’ capabilities and skill sets.
  • Strong working knowledge of PM and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Asana, Basecamp).

Qualifications

  • Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required.
  • Authorization to work in the US for any employer is mandatory.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and the ability to identify new business opportunities.
  • Track record of balancing long-term strategies with short-term objectives.
  • A blend of innovative thinking and project management skillset.

Skills

  • Strong product and project management skillset.
  • Deep understanding of the needs of professional communicators and the changing media landscape.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position is $105,900 - $136,200, based on a candidate’s skills and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a hybrid role working in our NYC office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
