Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides work assignments that are supportive of mission and objectives.
- Executes efforts to identify, develop and institutionalize solutions for assessing overall business performance in alignment with strategic, customer, and financial goals.
- Completes Management Operating System (MOS) gap analysis assessments; drives appropriate industry best practices throughout the business.
- Fosters effective working relationships and systems across business segments to ensure business-wide focus, consistency, and accountability.
- Manages relationships with functional counterparts in industry and parent corporation to leverage contemporary Six Sigma, Lean, and related systems, processes, and tools.
- Implements appropriate business action plans and metrics and assists in the management of enterprise balanced scorecard.
- Executes strategic and tactical Six Sigma Plus improvement activities across the business enterprise.
- Enables the appropriate development of technical and non-technical staff in continuous improvement processes and tools, including all Six Sigma methodologies and philosophies.
- Assures individual project accomplishments and overall work unit effectiveness are achieved relative to committed objectives.
- Provides leadership for staff development and holds them accountable to meet personal and business objectives.
- Provides technical and administrative evaluation of work unit's goals, development, and performance.
- Develops and implements staffing plans and budget proposals consistent with anticipated workloads.
- Manages employees, processes, and systems associated with contractor assurance system (CAS)
- Directly supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Counsels employees on career development and advancement opportunities.
- Takes actions necessary to "stop" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Lean Deployment, or related technical field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Lean Deployment, or related technical activities.
- United States Citizenship.
- Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions may require additional DOE designations).
Additional Information
- Extensive experience in lean deployment including problem solving, quality improvement, process flow, cycle time reduction, and/or other forms of waste elimination.
- Experience in deployment of Management Operating Systems.
