Job Summary
The Program Manager advises Boston College students about study abroad opportunities in assigned regions such as Ireland, Italy, and summer internships with the Vatican. Reporting to the Associate Director, this role involves advising students on program selection, application process, and curricular infrastructure, managing the visa process, and coordinating with host universities and BC faculty advisors.
Responsibilities
- Assist with program selection and application process for both BC and approved external programs
- Provide information and advice on curricular infrastructure and course offerings of programs
- Organize and execute help with visa process
- Communicate regularly with students while they are abroad and with relevant BC faculty advisors, parents, and host university staff
- Manage reintegration activities, evaluation, and reporting of the study abroad experience
- Communicate with host universities and partners, especially BC on-site coordinators
- Lead the office in promoting education abroad within the BC community through outreach efforts
- Assist in drafting and implementing an outreach strategy
Requirements
- Master’s degree required
- Two years of experience including graduate work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up
- Strong cross-cultural skills
- Advanced understanding of systems of higher education in the United States and abroad
- Strong computer skills and evidence of ability to develop strong innovative technology applications
- International experience
- Foreign language fluency preferred but not required
