Program Manager, Medical & Scientific Affairs (IVD, Medical Device)
About the role
As the Program Manager, Medical & Scientific Affairs at Leica Biosystems—one of Danaher’s operating companies—you will lead key projects and cross-functional teams within the Medical & Scientific Affairs (MedSci) function. This fully remote position reports to the Senior Director, Medical & Scientific Affairs and plays a pivotal role in advancing cancer diagnostics and improving lives through innovative, reliable solutions.
You’ll drive the execution of MedSci projects using Danaher Business System (DBS) tools such as VPM, VSM, Daily Management, and Action Plans, alongside platforms like Smartsheet, Miro, and Microsoft Suite. Your work will support Medical Affairs objectives, KPIs, and the sustainment of existing standard work, while partnering with internal and external resources to deliver evidence site effectiveness, generate medical insights, and report on key projects. Additionally, you’ll facilitate the processing of clinical and medical content for external audiences through internal approval processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead key projects and cross-functional teams within the MedSci function, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Drive project execution using DBS tools (VPM, VSM, Daily Management, Action Plans) and platforms like Smartsheet, Miro, and Microsoft Suite.
- Apply problem-solving principles to resolve critical issues and provide operations support for Medical Affairs objectives and KPIs.
- Partner with internal and external resources to deliver MedSci evidence site effectiveness, generate medical insights, and report on key projects.
- Support the processing of Medical Affairs clinical and medical content for external audiences through internal approval processes.
- Work independently with the MedSci team and cross-functional partners, consulting leadership for guidance on complex situations.
- Make balanced decisions and interpret business issues to recommend best practices.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining excellent organizational skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field with a preference for 7+ years of program management experience, or an advanced degree (PhD, MD) in biological science with a preference for 4+ years of program management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to work independently, discern complex situations, and make balanced decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in or knowledge of in vitro diagnostics (IVDs).
- Understanding of the product lifecycle from concept to commercial execution.
- PMP certification (or willingness to work toward certification).
- Medical affairs experience.

Pay
The annual salary range for this role is $130,000 – $145,000, with eligibility for bonus/incentive pay.
Schedule
This position is eligible for a fully remote work arrangement.
