Program Manager II
About the role
The DHHS Division of Public Health Licensing is seeking a Program Manager II to oversee the Office of Children’s Services Licensing in the State of Nebraska. The Program Manager II is responsible for managing and overseeing licensing for various types of childcare and child welfare facilities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to the Licensure Unit
- Build and maintain cohesion and collaboration among DHHS’s licensed professions and occupations
- Develop, maintain, and supervise a strong and well-functioning team
- Standardize processes and procedures
- Coincoperate and work with internal and external stakeholders
- Write legislative impact statements
- Develop, write, and implement regulations
- Address customer complaints
- Use strong ethical decision-making skills and quickly mobilize in response to changing priorities
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, education, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field and one year experience in program planning, implementation, budgeting, monitoring, evaluating, marketing a program or service and supervising/managing staff
- Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis
- Supervisory experience
- The ability to make and implement decisions
- The ability to work independently with minimal guidance at times
- Previous experience in or knowledge of child care or child welfare professions
Skills and Abilities
- Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency
- Business administration
- Accounting
- Customer service
- Technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management
